  • What is CEO fraud?

It is a cybercrime in which criminals impersonate a senior executive in order to trick key employees. They may request money transfers or confidential information.

  • How is it done?
  1. The fraudster identifies the victim and contacts them via an address similar to that of their superior.

  2. This email will request a transfer or access to confidential data as a matter of urgency.

  3. Seeing the urgency, it is very likely that the victim will not check the veracity of the email address.

CEO fraud can cause huge losses, so it is essential to educate employees to react appropriately.

Keep your team on their toes!
