When does it come into effect?
- 28th June 2025: For all businesses created from this date.
- 28th June 2030: Businesses created before the implementation date.
Which companies must apply it?
- Large companies: With more than 10 employees and an annual turnover exceeding two million euros.
- Public or private companies: That offer digital products or services, such as websites, mobile applications, or e-commerce platforms.
What criteria must you meet? (POUR Principles)
- Perceivable: The content of the website must be noticeable by all users (alternative texts and subtitles).
- Operable: The interactive elements of your website must adapt to any type of assistive technology.
- Understandable: The content and navigation of the website must be easy for any user.
- Robust: All content must be compatible with a wide variety of user agents (we recommend the use of HTML).
Complying with this Act not only avoids penalties, it also improves the user’s experience with your business.
